Fry Sauce & Fresh Brewed Root Beer.. only at Hires Big H

On a quick trip to Utah back in 1997 I came across a sauce I had never heard of, "Fry Sauce". To my amazement this concoction of mayo and ketchup is a standard in the Beehive State. If a place sells French Fries, they serve Fry Sauce. This standard is maintained not just amongst those "mom & pop" burger dives, even the Golden Arches and all the other burger chains serve up Fry Sauce. There is one place however where one can not only find fresh made Fry Sauce but fresh Brewed Root Beer.

Hires Big H has been a Salt Lake Valley favorite since 1959. More recently they have added an online store where a brew lover like me can order some of their root beer extract to make some home brew. To go along with the home brew they also sell bottles of their fry sauce, we certainly would not want these twins to part ways. I admit however, that I have never had the pleasure of enjoying their brew but look forward to the opportunity in the future.

When I do take that opportunity I am going to be sure to order up the Big H Fry Combo. For just under $8 you can slam down a burger, fries (with fry sauce of course) and a frosty mug of their very own brew. Not too shabby, not too shabby at all. I am getting very thirsty just thinking about it. check em out
